"Gathering of Warbirds and Veterans"
I had been looking forward to this event ever since I found out about it.
The weather in the morning was cold and wet and they weren't letting anyone
onto the airfield hanger areas until about 10am. But once we did get on it was
well worth the wait. A terrific line-up of aircraft, well spaced out and with North
Weald's usual warm and friendly atmosphere. 
Also at North Weald were a number of WWII Veterans who were there to sign items
for the public, in Hanger 2, in the morning and the afternoon and included
Major Hans-Ekkehard Bob who was taken up in the 'Bf-108' by Pilot Clive Denney.
I thoroughly enjoyed my day, I can't wait for the next event at North Weald, which has
turned into one of my favourite events of the year.
Aircraft taking part included several Supermarine Spitfires together with Guy Black's
Hawker Hurricane, Kennet Aviation Douglas Skyraider and Supermarine Seafire
Bell UH-1H Iroquois G-HUEY and Westland Wasp XT435 / 430. Also there were several marks of Provost, a very unusual looking Pilatus P2,
a DC-3 Dakota based at Coventry Airport, Peter Teichman's P-40 Kittyhawk
and also P-51D Mustangs "Janie" and "Marinell". This section contains around 250 unique images taken on the day:
